Humans have whispered warnings around campfires about what lies in the darkness since language was invented. Myths older than the written word tell tales of where not to tread, of fae that lure you away and eat you whole, of those who are not as they seem.

We still tell those stories today.

When you are in the woods alone and hear your name called — No you didn’t.

When the black-eyed children knock on your door — Don’t let them in.

When the shadow-man is standing in the corner of your room watching you sleep — It was just a dream.

Some of the old beings remain as they were, some creatures go by a different name and entirely new entities have stepped out of your screens. There are those don’t believe. Because if they can disprove the existence of what lurks out of sight, they can avoid the next question; Can they hurt us?
